BRITISH SANDWICH WEEK

At AMARONI we welcome the chance to help celebrate this week-long event of the greatest food to go and possibly one of Britain’s most iconic culinary inventions, the Sandwich!

It is said that the modern sandwich is named after Lord John Montague, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. He was a “dedicated” gambler, did not like to take time out from the game to have a meal. He would, therefore, ask casino waiters to bring him slices of meat between two slices of bread; a habit well known among his gambling friends. Because John Montagu was the Earl of Sandwich others began to order “the same as Sandwich!” – aka the ‘sandwich.’

This is the perfect opportunity to bring out your afternoon tea essentials, cake stands, side plates and teapots to help celebrate.

Whilst the vast majority of our glasses are, strictly speaking, ‘dishwasher safe’ wherever possible we strongly suggest hand washing. This will help to prolong the clarity & shine of the glass as well as reduce the chances of it becoming scratched or broken… and with glasses this gorgeous, no one wants that!

These beautiful glasses with a decorated, Ancient Greek pattern around the glass making it highly tactile, enhancing all the senses! A brilliant size for an everyday drinking glass with a stylish design! Made of glass by Anton Studio Designs.
